‘Kings Heath Rocks’. Fun fact-when I was a little I wanted to be a geologist and used to collect “interesting pebbles” in a little blue basket. I love living here, the community of litter-pickers and tree-planters are awesome’.

General Feedback from the Tree Planting Event

On behalf of Birmingham Trees for Life, can I thank the 70+ people that turned out in really grotty weather this morning to help us and the Friends of Kings Heath Park plant 500 new saplings. It was great to meet some of the people who’s names I see on this site and to see that there are a large group of locals keen to work together to keep Kings Heath as a great place to live and bring up their families.  Thank you all.

It was a great event – and we’ll enjoy watching the trees grow into a beautiful woodland.

Thank you Birmingham Trees for Life; these 500 whips will be a great asset to our park as they grow into trees that will enhance that area for the future generations.

It was a great event with fantastically enthusiastic diggers !! Really enjoyed it and thanks to the organisers. The best welcomed cup of tea to defrost fingers x

Sounds like a really great event. I had hoped to be there but had to be somewhere else. Its really good to know there’s stuff like this happening in our community.

Community really can be so inspirational! – Tree planting in Kings Heath Park with a wonderful turn out and over 70 people in attendance. Well done Kings Heath & Moseley #peoplewithpassion #BirminghamPassion – courtesy @kingsheathpark

‘Kings Heath’ didn’t let us down today as 70+ members of the community turned out in rain and cold to help plant 500 trees and extend a woodland area in Kings Heath Park. Well done to the Friends for promoting this event, thanks to the family that sponsored it, and most of all…..thanks to everyone that came along and made short work of getting all of the trees planted. Shame about the weather!! Lots more photos via album link on our web site. www.btfl.org.uk

Comment – Super, I wish all communities were as interested
Reply – They are. It’s just a matter of finding the right people to set up and coordinate. Look at the stuff @kingsheathpark is doing lately. Inspirational.

Reference – Christmas Wreath Making 2018

Fantastic throw back pictures of this years wreath making workshop, huge thanks goes to all those people that participated in this workshop and made it possible to become a really enjoyable event.
This workshop has been running now for around 5 yrs with park ranger Alf and coordinated by the cafe this year we where joined by the friends group and worked in conjunction with Park ranger Alan it was a fabulous event and allowed us to build on what we had previously achieved.
This year with the support of the friends chair and volunteers we where able to offer two workshops and 40 participants got to enjoy the class . This is a free event and the space is donated to make this possible all material are sourced by parks and the course was supported and ran by Paul and Gill . With out there dedication this year this wouldn’t have been achievable, there is the preparation and of course the time to clean up all materials have to gathered up. It really felt worth while to see all these beautiful creations .

Thank you to all of the people that put their donations in the box we really appreciate your kindness and attendance. We can look forward to next year expanding further and I do believe that the friends group have already pencilled it in the diary.

Reference – Santa Event 2018

A huge thank you to everyone that visited us over the festive period. Santa’s visit was no exception it was well received despite the awful weather we had on the 15th of December . We managed to raise some money in the process to enable future events in the park with the help of kings heath friends together we think it was a fabulous event.

Volunteers helping to maintain our beautiful park.
